The Servant Center values our volunteers and the contributions they make to our cause. We are so grateful for the time and energy our volunteers devote to helping us reach our goals. Quilts of Valor
Quilts of Valor gifted 19 residents of Servant House with a personalized quilt, pieced and quilted by the Heart of the Triad Quilt Guild. Each quilt was presented to individual veterans and draped around their shoulders by Marty Smith and Cindy Rayburn gave a hug of appreciation for service to country.
Many thanks to Marty Smith, Cindy Rayburn and Bette Brownlow, whose kindness truly touched everyone. Several veterans described it as the first sincere thank-you they received years after returning home from service. Others said the quilts rekindled warm feelings and special memories of childhood that brought tears of joy.
Catherine Roberts started Quilts of Valor in 2003 inspired by a dream during her son's deployment in Iraq. To date, more than 345,000 veterans have received quilts.
