Shanna Reece
Executive Director

 

Shanna Reece has spent the last 25+ years serving non-profit and government agencies throughout Greensboro, North Carolina. She has assisted these entities with program development, implementation and analysis of needs assessments, program evaluation, partnership development and grant writing. Since 2006 Shanna Reece has served as Executive Director of The Servant Center where she oversees the following:

​

· Servant House – 21 beds for disabled veterans experiencing homelessness.

· Glenwood/Haworth Houses – 17 permanent supportive housing apartments for veterans.

· Fast Track – a Rapid Rehousing program that couples case management and financial assistance to help individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness to reach housing stability.

· Disability Assistance Program – helps un- and under-insured individuals to apply for SSI/SSDI benefits.

· Partnership to End Homelessness – an AmeriCorps program that places members at nonprofits to address homelessness and hunger in Guilford County.

 

In addition, Shanna is the co-Chair of the Stand Down Committee, a co-founder of the Triad Veterans Coalition, and serves on the Board of the Guilford County Continuum of Care.

 

Prior to working for The Servant Center, Shanna served as the Director of Grants and Contracts for Family Services of the Piedmont. In this capacity, she managed more than $2.5 million in grant and contract dollars. Before working for Family Services of the Piedmont, Shanna worked for the Greensboro Housing Authority where she was responsible for acquiring grant funding, developing programs, creating program evaluation plans, tracking outcomes, and developing collaborative partnerships.

 

Shanna acquired more than $2 million in funding for the Greensboro Housing Authority in two years. Earlier in Shanna’s career, she worked for an independent consulting firm that specialized in working with housing authorities, government entities and non-profit organizations throughout North Carolina. She also provided technical assistance to housing authorities located in Georgia and South Carolina at the request of The Department of Housing and Urban Development.

 

Over her career, Shanna has successfully secured millions of dollars in grant funding for non-profit and government agencies throughout North Carolina. Shanna earned a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1995 and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Western Carolina University.

 

In 2013 Shanna graduated from the Center for Creative Leadership’s Executive Director’s Academy.
